Where Legacy builds and services pools across Long Island.
Serving all of Long Island with crews on the ground every week and more than fifteen years of experience building pools throughout Suffolk and Nassau.
Legacy Custom Pools is based in Smithtown and serves the full length of Long Island. We have built and maintained pools in Long Island where most of our work happens, and we take projects across Suffolk and Nassau when the job fits our crew schedule. Pick your town below to see what we build there, what each town's permit office is like to work with, and what to expect for pricing and timeline in your specific market.
The Hamptons
The Hamptons market is the most demanding pool work on Long Island. Summer homes get used hard for three months and sit closed for nine. Town review boards in East Hampton, Southampton, and the surrounding villages are slow on purpose — they protect property values by keeping a tight grip on what gets built. Pool projects in the Hamptons take longer to permit than anywhere else on the Island. They also command the highest prices, with most builds landing between $250,000 and $500,000+ once hardscape, spas, and outdoor living are included.
- East Hampton pool builder — Wainscott, Amagansett, Springs, and Montauk Highway estates
- Southampton pool builder — Estate Section, North Sea, and the Tuckahoe corridor
- Bridgehampton pool builder — Sagaponack, Water Mill, and the agricultural reserve
- Sag Harbor pool builder — Village, North Haven, and the historic waterfront homes
- Westhampton Beach pool builder — Quogue, Quiogue, and the dune district properties
North Shore Gold Coast
The Gold Coast villages are old-money estate properties with mature landscapes that have to be respected during a build. A pool job here is usually one piece of a larger property renovation that involves landscape architects, irrigation contractors, lighting designers, and stone masons. We are used to working as the pool crew on a larger team, not as the only contractor on site. Prices in the Gold Coast tend to track the Hamptons closely for high-end gunite builds, though timelines can be a few weeks faster because the review boards are smaller and more direct.
- Lloyd Harbor pool builder — Village estates with mature landscapes
- Cold Spring Harbor pool builder — Hamlet and waterfront properties
- Oyster Bay pool builder — Cove Neck, Mill Neck, and Centre Island
- Old Westbury pool builder — Estate Section and the Wheatley Hills corridor
Central Suffolk
Smithtown is our home base. Most weeks we are also on a job in Dix Hills or Huntington, and have a maintenance route through all three towns. Central Suffolk is where Legacy started and where most of our long-running maintenance clients live. The work here is split between full custom new builds for first-time pool owners and renovation jobs on 1990s and early 2000s pools that need new tile, plaster, equipment, and decks. Pricing is more reasonable here than the Hamptons and Gold Coast, and the permit offices move faster.
- Smithtown pool builder — HQ town: St. James, Nesconset, Kings Park
- Dix Hills pool builder — Half-Hollow Hills school district properties
- Huntington pool builder — Village, Centerport, Halesite, Lloyd Neck approaches
Outside these twelve towns
If your town is not on the list above, call us anyway. We have completed projects in Northport, St. James, Stony Brook, East Setauket, Melville, Bay Shore, Babylon, Massapequa, Quogue, Hampton Bays, Sag Harbor's outer hamlets, and most of the towns between them. The towns listed above are where we have enough volume to keep a permanent crew and maintenance route. Everywhere else is project-by-project based on schedule, but we will tell you straight whether we can take your job this season.
