About Legacy

Built by craftsmen. Backed by certification. Standing behind every pool we touch.

A Long Island pool builder doing things the old way: same crew on every phase, real PHTA credentials, and a pool that holds up long after the warranty period ends.

Who we are

Legacy Custom Pools builds inground gunite and vinyl liner pools, renovates aging pools, and provides full-lifecycle service for homeowners across Suffolk and Nassau County. We are not the biggest pool builder on Long Island and we are not trying to be. We are the team that shows up, does the work ourselves, and is still the one you call ten years later when a heater needs replacing.

Why we exist

Most pool builders are coordinators. They quote your project, sub it out to four different crews, and hope nothing falls between the cracks. The result is the pool industry's biggest open secret: nine times out of ten, when a pool fails early, it's because the people who built it never actually worked on it together.

We started Legacy because that model produces bad pools. Crews that don't know what the previous crew did. Plumbing that gets buried before anyone thinks about service access. Finishes applied over shells that weren't prepped properly. The kind of mistakes that don't show up for years, by which point the builder is long gone.

Same crew, every phase. Design through final walkthrough. The person responsible for your build is on site for the gunite shoot, the tile, the plumbing, and the start-up.

That's how a pool ends up holding together for fifty years instead of falling apart in fifteen.

The credentials behind the work

Legacy holds a Pool & Hot Tub Alliance Certified Building Professional credential — the industry-recognized standard for pool design, code compliance, structural integrity, and finish quality. This is not a vendor sticker. It is a real certification that requires continuing education and adherence to written standards.

We are also fully licensed and insured for pool construction work in New York State, and our crews are trained on the specific code requirements of every Suffolk and Nassau township we work in.

How we work

  1. On-site consultation. We come to you. Walk the yard, measure, talk through how you actually plan to use the pool, look at sight lines and sun angles, and ask the questions a contractor about to sub the job out doesn't ask.
  2. Design with 3D rendering. Before we excavate, you see exactly how the pool sits in your yard — water line, deck, hardscape, plantings, lighting. Real renderings, not artist's impressions.
  3. One proposal, line-item pricing. Materials, labor, equipment, finishes, optional integrations. You see exactly what each piece costs before you sign.
  4. One crew through the entire build. Excavation, steel, plumbing, gunite shoot, tile, coping, plaster, equipment, start-up. Same people. Every phase.
  5. Walk-through and start-up. You learn how to run the pool. We document the equipment, settings, and chemistry baseline. The warranty starts the day water goes in.
  6. Service for the life of the pool. Most of our weekly service clients are people whose pools we built ten or fifteen years ago. That continuity is the entire business model.
